Six Flags Fiesta Texas Mardi Gras Festival               March 24 – April 30

This is a first time event featuring twice daily street parades with authentic Mardi Gras street floats designed and built by world-renowned float designer Kern Studios. New Orleans Jazz and festive Mardi Gras décor takes center stage during this seven day event. New Orleans style food and fun will also be featured!

Mission Reach Flotilla Festival                          April 8             11 AM until 5 PM

The third Annual Mission Reach Flotilla Festival at the Mission County Park Pavilions is a free family-friendly, Fiesta-on-the-Mission-Reach event. Featured are a Flotilla water parade, watercraft decorating contest, costume contest, great music, delicious local food, and festival activities for kids. The event is designed to bring awareness to the newly developed  Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River, including over 15-miles of hike and bike trails, pavilions and other outdoor recreation amenities. This Free event takes place at 6030 Padre Drive, San Antonio.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort                April 14                  

The original Schlitterbahn, just 20 minutes north of San Antonio in New Braunfels, has over 65 acres of tube rides, water slides and uphill water coasters. Explore over seventy acres of shared family fun, thrilling adventure, and relaxation!  The excitement of the 2017 Season begins on April 14.

Splashtown San Antonio                       April 28

Splashtown San Antonio opens for 2017 Season on April 28. This water park features 20 landscaped acres of cool, clean water excitement. Located just three minutes north of downtown, there are over 50 Rides & Attractions, FREE Life Jackets, a covered Public Picnic Area, Restaurant & Concessions, Dive-In Movies, Lockers for Rent, Professionally Trained Lifeguards, FREE Parking, and Restrooms with Shower Facilities.

2017 Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure                  April 8         8 AM until 12 PM

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series is the world’s largest, most successful fundraising and education event for breast cancer. The race series includes more than 140 events on four continents, with over one million participants coming together every year to take part in the fight against breast cancer. The local San Antonio event takes place at 100 Montana St. beginning at 8am on April 8.

13th Annual Walk for Autism and Superhero 5k                April 22                     7 AM-2 PM

Any Baby Can’s 13th Annual Walk for Autism is an Official Fiesta ® San Antonio event that helps support families raising individuals with autism. Dress up as your favorite superhero and kick off your morning with the Superhero 5K at 8 a.m. Then stick around for our 13th Annual Walk for Autism at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy a day of activities for all abilities, family-friendly performances, delicious food trucks, and visit with over 100 community resources! The new Teen Area features science and robotics demonstrations and much more at the Helotes Cornyval Grounds, 12210 Leslie Road.  Children 10 and under FREE.

The DoSeum’s Annual Gala                        April 7                  7 PM until 10:30 PM

 SoFlo Market                   April 8                  10 AM until 4 PM

This FREE family friendly and pet friendly event occurs monthly, on the second Saturday. Artist vendors offer their unique handmade creations including jewelry, handmade soaps, recycled art, home accessories, skincare, fine art, pottery, local homegrown products, and special vintage finds for sale. Come taste the savory gourmet food from local food trucks, live music and DJ.

Market hours are from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the SoFlo Market Warehouse, 1344 S. Flores St., San Antonio.

5th Annual San Antonio Book Festival      April 8

The San Antonio Book Festival will host its largest group of authors yet during its fifth annual event on April 8. The 2017 author lineup includes an array of local and regional authors—such as Carmen Tafolla and S.C. Gwynne—as well as best-selling national authors, including Ann Patchett, who’s known for her Pen/Faulkner award-winning book Bel Canto and her most recent New York Times bestseller Commonwealth. Panel topics will range from women’s issues and immigration to how the West is written about in fiction novels. Multiple children’s and youth authors also are scheduled to appear during the festival at the Central Library and Southwest School of Art.

22nd  Annual Zoo-La-La! A Taste of San Antonio              May 11                   7 PM – 10:30 PM                                                                                        

Zoo-La-La! A Taste of San Antonio is the Zoo’s “Taste Of” fundraiser for adults (Ages 21 and older event*).  Sample food from 50 of San Antonio’s premiere restaurants! Stroll through the zoo’s pathways and animal habitats while enjoying live music on three stages and sampling local craft beer and wine.

Fiesta Noche Del Rio                      May 12 – August 12

A San Antonio tradition, this performance features songs and dances of Mexico, Spain, Argentina and Texas and occurs Friday and Saturday evenings at the River Walk’s historic Arneson River Theatre.

America’s Armed Forces River Parade                    May 21st            7pm

In celebration of Armed Forces Day, professionally decorated floats will travel down the River Walk. All branches of service, veterans of recent conflicts, and military support groups will be represented in this unique parade.

Alamo City Comic Con                                 May 26-28

Fans of comics, gaming and cosplay take over the Henry B. González Convention Center to meet their favorite celebs, artist and writers.  900 E Market St, San Antonio.
