Between deployments, PCSes, and the challenges of life in the military, it can be tough to find time to relax with your spouse. Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day, your anniversary, a birthday or just a night out without the kids, it is essential to take the time to enjoy each other’s company and keep the relationship going. Finding inspiration and time for date nights can be tough to do, especially if the active duty spouse hasn’t been home much.
Worse yet, maybe you haven’t been at your duty station very long, so you have no idea what’s even available for a special night out. Or maybe, your kids are very little, and you are hesitant to leave them with a new sitter you barely know. Money might be an issue both for the date and for the childcare. As if military marriage isn’t tough enough, there are always obstacles to spending quality time together.
Don’t worry, PCSgrades has you covered! You have date night challenges, but we have solutions! Whether you are new to your base, or just looking to try something different, we have great ideas for a base near you. Like all of our data and base housing reviews, all these dates are suggested by military spouses, for military spouses.
If you have kids, start looking now for a sitter you are comfortable with. You can ask for recommendations on your neighborhood Facebook page, or check the base CC to see if they offer a parent’s night out this month. Sometimes local churches offer a free night of childcare around Valentine’s Day. Consider swapping nights with another neighbor too. Maybe you can watch their kids on Valentine’s evening so they can go out, but then they can watch your kids on the weekend so you can get a night out too!
Check out these unique, somewhat reasonably priced Date Night ideas, not just for Valentines Day, but anytime.
