THE One Stop Shop for your next PCS

By Rebecca Alwine

So often in this military life, we rely on those who have gone before us to get us through the next hurdle. Gone are the days that you arrive at a new duty station and then start learning about it. Luckily, PCSgrades has taken this mantra and created a one stop shop for all things related to moving. With trusted reviews by military families who have already discovered all there is to know, there’s no reason to go elsewhere.

Why PCSgrades?

PCSgrades listened to what military families wanted and delivered….Big Time! They present an easy-to-use website that provides reviews on neighborhoods, base housing, Realtors, mortgage lenders, schools, and even moving companies from the single most trusted source on the topic, fellow military families.

They’ve built an interactive website that allows verified users to leave reviews on a host of topics. From schools to Realtors to neighborhoods on and off the installations, people who have lived there before have shared their thoughts. This service is exclusive to military families and veterans, so the information is exactly what you’re looking for because they’ve all been there.

But wait, there’s more!

On top of this being a subscription free and advertisement free service, there is a sense of control when using PCSgrades. You’re not going to see reviews by housing companies eager to have you move onto the installation; you’re going to hear directly from someone who has lived in that house. You are also going to hear from military families who have used Realtors in the area that have a relationship with the community and PCSgrades.

You can also see what families have to say about the schools in the area, which is a huge help when deciding where to live. For those looking to buy a house at their new installation, the mortgage lenders and Realtors section is a great place to start reading reviews. By using the Realtors selected through the site, cash back rebates of 20% of the purchase price of a home are available.

One relatively new service PCSgrades offers is the review of moving companies. Gone are the days where you wait anxiously for the packers to arrive only to discover (afterward) that your neighbor used them and they broke every dish in the cabinet. Now you can hop on the site, check the reviews of the company, and have plenty of time to call and switch to someone with more positive reviews. You can also download and print out the Mover’s Notice which alerts the moving company on your intention to leave a review on PCSgrades, so they know it is coming.
